Lehigh Acres runs on equipment, trailers and work trucks parked on open acreage lots, not on boat lifts. We bring the blast rig to the property and strip rust, old paint and failed coatings where the machine already sits.
SWFL Media Blasters works Lehigh Acres out of the truck, because almost nothing here is worth hauling to a shop first. This is inland Lee County, a grid of platted acreage lots where the driveway is long, the yard is open, and the thing that needs stripping is usually parked on it: a trailer, a mower deck, an excavator, a truck frame, a gate, a set of porch posts. There is no canal behind the house to blame, and metal still rusts and paint still chalks, because humidity, sprinkler water and afternoon sun do that work on their own. We strip the surface where it sits, and coat it if you want it coated. Call or text (239) 227-1768.
Lehigh Acres was drawn on paper long before it was built out. It is one of Florida's largest mid-century platted communities, a wide grid of small lots laid out and sold sight unseen in the 1950s and 1960s, and it is still filling in lot by lot today. That history shows up on the ground as a single street carrying an older one-story house, two empty lots, a new build, and a fenced yard with a trailer and a piece of equipment sitting on it.
What the grid mostly does not have is water access. Without seawalls, docks and lifts, the maintenance list changes shape completely. The surfaces that fail out here are concrete driveways and walkways, sheds, carports and pole barns, gates, fencing and rail, well and pump housings, screen enclosure frames, and every vehicle or machine parked in the open because there is room to park it.
Inland does not mean dry. Humidity settles on bare metal overnight, irrigation and well water keep steel damp at the base and leave mineral staining on concrete, storms drive rain into every chip and weld, and the sun cooks paint and sealer until it chalks and releases. Blasting is how you stop painting over a failing layer: take it all off, look at what is actually underneath, then coat it. The rest of the region is on our service area page.
Machinery is the clearest argument for a mobile rig. An excavator, skid steer, loader, tractor, mower deck or attachment that has to leave the property to get prepped is not earning anything while it rides a lowboy. We set up beside it instead, mask the glass, cylinder rods, decals and anything else that should not be touched, and take the failed coating and corrosion down to sound metal.
Rust on equipment rarely starts in the middle of a panel. It starts at welds and bucket edges, at pin bosses, along the underside of the frame where mud and grass pack in and stay wet, and around every chip a rock put there. Pressure washing rinses that area; it does not lift corrosion that is already creeping under the paint film. Crushed recycled glass and garnet cut scale and old enamel off and leave a profile the next coating can actually grip, which is the whole reason to prep rather than recoat.
Coating afterward is your call and worth settling at the estimate. We can hand a machine back bare, clean and ready for your painter, or prime and coat it before we pull off the lot, which matters on steel that will sit outdoors in Lehigh Acres humidity the moment we leave. See commercial blasting, rust removal, and on-site blasting and equipment downtime.

The vehicle list here starts with trailers, because an acreage lot collects them: utility trailers, dump and equipment trailers, enclosed trailers, boat trailers. They get loaded heavy, parked on grass or shell, and left in full sun, and the frame tube rots from the inside where nobody looks. Fenders let go at the mounts, lights and wiring corrode at the ground point, and ramp gates seize at the hinge.
After that it is work trucks and service vans carrying road grit and rain every day, and the project sitting on jack stands in the garage or under the carport: a frame, an axle, a set of control arms, a motorcycle, a mower, a boat trailer that needs to look right again. Blasting brings all of it back to bare, honest metal so you can see what is solid and what needs a repair before paint hides it again. Media and pressure get matched to the gauge, so thin sheet does not warp and castings do not get chewed.
Because the rig travels, a half-stripped frame never has to be trailered anywhere. Details on automotive blasting and rust removal, plus how coastal rust works on trucks and trailers and what to expect when a car frame gets blasted.

Residential work on the grid is a mix, because the housing stock is a mix. An older painted block house that has been recoated more than once will chalk or blister at the newest layer, and another coat over a failing one buys a season at best. Concrete driveways, walkways and slabs carry stains, dropped paint, rust bloom off a trailer jack and old sealer that has clouded. Screen enclosure frames, porch posts, railings and entry gates lose their finish and start pitting. Sheds, carports and pole barn steel go at the fasteners and the base plates first.
Each of those wants a different setup, and picking wrong is exactly how a surface gets wrecked. Baking soda is the gentle option on wood, aluminum and finished material. Crushed recycled glass and garnet handle rust and heavy coatings on steel. The wet dustless stream is what runs near screens, plantings, vehicles and a neighbor's lot. We test a small out-of-the-way spot first, every time, and show you the result before committing to the whole surface. Older painted exteriors can carry lead in the coating, which is why testing and proper containment come before anything gets stripped.
The acreage lots out in Golden Gate Estates hand us a very similar list. See residential blasting, paver sealer removal, and removing paint from concrete, brick and block.

Most of Lehigh Acres has no direct waterway, so the boat is on a trailer in the driveway or backed under a carport between trips to a ramp on the river or the coast. That does not spare the bottom. Ablative paint still builds up coat over coat until it cracks and sheds, and any boat that spends real time in warm salt or brackish water still comes back with growth stuck to it and a hull that has lost its speed and fuel economy.
A trailered boat is honestly the easy version of this job. It is already out of the water, already on a trailer or stands, and usually sitting in a driveway with room to work around it, which is more space than a crowded boatyard offers. We mask and drape, strip the paint and growth in a controlled pass, and leave gelcoat that new antifouling can bond to. Running gear, brackets, the trailer frame and the bunk hardware can all get handled the same visit.
What we need from you is simple: room to set up around the item, a way through the gate, and a heads up about where water and power are. Start with marine blasting or boat bottom paint removal, read how often bottom paint needs redoing, and see what moves an estimate on our cost factors page.
Based in Naples and mobile across Southwest Florida — we bring the rig to your home, marina, yard or job site. Call or text (239) 227-1768.
Yes. The rig is fully mobile and self contained, so we work at the property: the driveway, the carport, the pole barn, the fence line, the equipment yard or an active jobsite. Nothing has to be loaded up and hauled to a shop first. Tell us where the item sits, how we get in and what room there is to set up, and we plan the visit around that. On-site estimates in Lehigh Acres are free.
That is the point of a mobile setup. Excavators, skid steers, tractors, mowers, attachments, trailers and fleet trucks all get prepped where they are parked, so the machine is not tied up on a lowboy or waiting in a queue at a shop. We mask glass, cylinder rods and anything else that should stay untouched, blast to sound metal, pick up spent media, and prime or coat it before we leave if that is what you want.
Inland Lee County is humid, wet half the year and hot the other half, and that is enough. Bare metal collects condensation overnight, irrigation keeps the base of posts and frames damp, and every rock chip on a trailer or bucket edge opens a path for corrosion to work sideways under the paint. Salt air is a multiplier, not the only cause. See rust removal for how far it usually has to be cut back.
Access and space, mostly. We need to get the truck reasonably close to the item, room to work around it and set tarps, and a gate code or an unlocked gate if there is one. Let us know where the nearest water spigot and power are, move vehicles and anything you do not want media landing near, and point out anything fragile nearby. If the piece can be pulled away from a wall or a fence, that helps.
Not when the setup matches the material. Aluminum, wood and finished surfaces get baking soda or the wet dustless stream at lower pressure with the nozzle kept moving, while rust and heavy coatings on steel get crushed recycled glass or garnet. We test a small area that will not show and let you look at the result before we take on the whole surface. See soda blasting for where the gentle option fits.
It is contained work, not a free-for-all. We tarp and mask the area, plan where rebound lands, and run the wet dustless setup near screens, plantings, vehicles and the property line so dust drops instead of drifting. Spent media gets picked up before we pull off the property. On older painted surfaces containment is tighter, since the coating being removed can carry lead. More on dustless blasting.
Call or text (239) 227-1768 with what you have and the address, plus photos if you have them handy. Then we come look in person, because the surface, how many layers are on it, how far corrosion has gone, the access and whether you want coating afterward all change the work. On-site estimates are free. Our cost factors page walks through what moves the number before we ever get there.
